Spectators: 7222 (Terracing: 5418, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hermínio Veiga started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Jesus Salva getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Marcelo Carneiro hit a great ball. Duda Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Lucas in the 12th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Luisão Damião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamengo CRF and the Jesus Salva players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Flamengo CRF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Damião to maneuver through the defense. Murilo Arruda hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jesus Salva! In the 29thth minute of the game Kléber Lucas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Jesus Salva booed when Flamengo CRF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Renatinho Leite came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Jesus Salva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Leite couldn't finish the play. Duda Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Lucas in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kléber Lucas in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duda Pimenta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flamengo CRF's Duda Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Lucas in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kléber Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Flamengo CRF got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Alves. Kléber Lucas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Kléber Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duda Pimenta was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 57th minute, Jesus Salva's Kléber Lucas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Kléber Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duda Pimenta was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Duda Pimenta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kléber Lucas's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. If Joaquim Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th match minute, Jesus Salva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Durval Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hermínio Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hermínio Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
