Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mazinho Pirani in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Júlio Trevisan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Renato Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Gilvan Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Time do Emanuel FC's protests and gave Gilvan Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. When Mazinho Pirani came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Time do Emanuel FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazinho Pirani couldn't finish the play. Gernando Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Alvarenga having to interfere. Renato Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Gernando Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Campo Grande F.C.'s Rafa Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Renato Alvarenga. That made the score 1-0 after 36 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mazinho Pirani made a kick off. If Gernando Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Time do Emanuel FC's Renato Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Ramalho in the 60th minute of play. Júlio Trevisan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Pirani in the 62nd minute of the match.
