Cristóvão Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Júlio Trevisan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DunHill F.C.. In the 11th minute, Emílio da Fonseca fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in DunHill F.C.'s zone, Leopoldo Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Montenegro came out of the goal and Leopoldo Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emílio da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Júlio Trevisan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Emílio da Fonseca fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gernando Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sidney Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leopoldo Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Campo Grande F.C.'s Júlio Trevisan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Campo Grande F.C. from getting a goal against them. Sidney Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Leopoldo Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, DunHill F.C.'s Emílio da Fonseca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With his leg Sidney Montenegro managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Campo Grande F.C.'s Gernando Mello fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sidney Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Ramalho's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Gernando Mello got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Campo Grande F.C. booed when DunHill F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luiz Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Cristóvão Alvarenga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DunHill F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio da Fonseca in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Trevisan saved Campo Grande F.C. from getting behind. 76 minutes into the match, Campo Grande F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Alvarenga came free, but Júlio Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Campo Grande F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for DunHill F.C..
