In the 38thth minute of the game Leopoldo Ramalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dortmund's Vito Velloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Eliézer Ortiz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Campo Grande F.C.'s Júlio Trevisan. Júlio Trevisan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Ramalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Eriberto Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Campo Grande F.C. and the Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vito Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 minutes of play, Campo Grande F.C.'s Gernando Mello made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vito Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Leopoldo Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vito Velloso was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Leopoldo Ramalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
