Reinaldo Britto might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonas Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Britto ran back to his position shaking his head. If Davi de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Júnior Viana fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Platelmintes FC's protests and gave Júnior Viana a yellow card for diving instead. Júnior Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Platelmintes FC's Jonas Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi de Alcântara in the 10th minute of play. Ramón Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Almir Pontes's late challenge caught a Orgulho do RN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Almir Pontes helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Platelmintes FC got a freekick which was hit by Almir Pontes. Jonas Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramón Paraibano's late challenge caught a Orgulho do RN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramón Paraibano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Orgulho do RN booed when Platelmintes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, Orgulho do RN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Dino Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Leal in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gil Leal in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dino Tasso saved Orgulho do RN from getting behind. After 22 played minutes Orgulho do RN got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Marinho. In the 26th minute, Davi de Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonas Moura was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Platelmintes FC defense, Davi de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonas Moura. The Platelmintes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonas Moura should have stopped the shot. Oséias Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Moura having to interfere. The Platelmintes FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Orgulho do RN were winning 0-2.

In the 51st minute, Reinaldo Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonas Moura didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reinaldo Britto went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Gil Leal took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dino Tasso. Dino Tasso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gil Leal in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dino Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reinaldo Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonas Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi de Alcântara in the 68th minute of play forced Platelmintes FC's goalkeeper Jonas Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Britto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonas Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi de Alcântara in the 73rd minute of the match. Davi de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonas Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Britto in the 87th minute. The supporters of Orgulho do RN booed when Platelmintes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Platelmintes FC's Jonas Moura got control of the ball when Reinaldo Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Orgulho do RN supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Orgulho do RN would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
