The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Paulão Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biloca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulão Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulão Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiano Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Paraíba in the 9th minute of the match. Paulão Moreira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Christiano Lara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Christiano Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in C.A.Paulistano's zone, Túlio Paraíba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Lara came out of the goal and Túlio Paraíba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Biloca FC's Geovanni Silva got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute, Richard Tavares sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Biloca FC's Robinho Azevedo didn't even have to move. Luís Fabiano Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute Victor Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robinho Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Silva in the 34th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Biloca FC got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Trancoso. Biloca FC's Robinho Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Silva in the 36th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Christiano Lara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 41st minute, Túlio Paraíba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robinho Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Silva in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Lara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
