After 12 minutes, Manuel Eger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orgulho do RN and the Piem players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Manuel Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dráusio Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Tasso having to interfere. Dino Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Nelson Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Tasso having to interfere. Reinaldo Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Breno Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Piem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Tavares should have stopped the shot. Breno Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davi de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Reinaldo Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dráusio Gaúcho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráusio Gaúcho in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dino Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 58 minutes of play, Orgulho do RN's Davi de Alcântara made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Breno Tavares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Breno Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Britto in the 67th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dráusio Gaúcho in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dino Tasso saved Orgulho do RN from getting behind. If Reinaldo Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Davi de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Orgulho do RN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davi de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Zé Augusto Fantini's late challenge caught a Orgulho do RN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Augusto Fantini helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Piem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto Fantini to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Orgulho do RN's zone, Nelson Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Tasso came out of the goal and Nelson Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Orgulho do RN fans cheered their team off the field, for while Piem had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
