Aníbal Urbano started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Luisão Mazza notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of C.R.Flamengo-ES's Haroldo Vasconcelos. Haroldo Vasconcelos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ronaldão Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, C.R.Flamengo-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Diniz came free, but Haroldo Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Diniz in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, Cianorte FC's Sandro Diniz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haroldo Vasconcelos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisão Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Vasconcelos having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, C.R.Flamengo-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Luisão Mazza came free, but Haroldo Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luisão Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Haroldo Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmir Cosme in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haroldo Vasconcelos saved C.R.Flamengo-ES from getting behind. Carlos Augusto Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Luisão Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Cianorte FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Sandro Diniz made the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes C.R.Flamengo-ES got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Urbano. If Sandro Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cianorte FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Cianorte FC's Sandro Diniz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. C.R.Flamengo-ES's Haroldo Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Diniz in the 69th minute of play. Cianorte FC's Luisão Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aníbal Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Pedrinho Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.R.Flamengo-ES's Haroldo Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save C.R.Flamengo-ES from getting a goal against them. Aníbal Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sandro Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.R.Flamengo-ES's goalkeeper Haroldo Vasconcelos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Cianorte FC booed when C.R.Flamengo-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cianorte FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
