Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Benedito Arruda started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Knights Of Cydonia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Benedito Arruda 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Gil Alves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Júlio Martins having to make a save. Júlio Martins came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Knights Of Cydonia's Júlio Paraense. But to his dismay, Júlio Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Júlio Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Paraense in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Benedito Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Gazette's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tales Ribeiro in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Benedito Arruda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Felipe Cunha. The goal made the score 2-1. 34 minutes into the game, Benedito Arruda recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Felipe Cunha. Benedito Arruda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Felipe Cunha stood somewhat misplaced when Benedito Arruda came free in front of goal and shot 4-1 to the left of him in the 38 minute. 43 minutes into the game, João Augusto Meirelles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Gazette's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knights Of Cydonia the free kick. After 44 played minutes Hortêncio de Medeiros shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for The Gazette's Júlio Martins to catch but Hortêncio de Medeiros was lucky. It became 4-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Paraense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Benedito Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Cunha having to interfere. Felipe Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Paulo Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Alex Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Benedito Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If José Paulo Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benedito Arruda's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Tomás Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a left leg Felipe Cunha saved Knights Of Cydonia from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Benedito Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Gazette's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedito Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 minutes of play The Gazette's João Augusto Meirelles was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 84th minute, João Augusto Meirelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Paulo Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipe Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gil Alves got free with Júlio Martins in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Knights Of Cydonia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
