C.'s Edgar de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi de Alcântara in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Orgulho do RN's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Genílson Valadares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Marcel Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Dino Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genílson Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcel Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Tasso having to interfere. Edgar de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davi de Alcântara in the 16th minute of play. When Orgulho do RN's Davi de Alcântara in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Marcel Toscano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dino Tasso having to make a save. Oséias Marinho's late challenge caught a Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oséias Marinho helped the player get up and apologised. After 22 played minutes Orgulho do RN got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Marinho. Genílson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Tasso having to interfere. If Davi de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dadá Veloso hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Valadares in the 39th minute of play forced Orgulho do RN's goalkeeper Dino Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Reinaldo Britto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Edgar de Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Davi de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. Davi de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar de Mendonça having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Davi de Alcântara came free, but Edgar de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Davi de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Edgar de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Orgulho do RN! In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Luiz Bernardo F. C.. Franklin Senna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dino Tasso. 1-1. If Genílson Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Genílson Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Genílson Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geovanni Secco hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The supporters of Luiz Bernardo F. C. booed when Orgulho do RN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s goalkeeper Edgar de Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinaldo Britto. After a rather tough play, Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s Genílson Valadares got a free kick in the 81st minute. Reinaldo Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar de Mendonça having to interfere. Marcel Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Tasso having to interfere. After some careless play in the Orgulho do RN defense, Marcel Toscano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dino Tasso. The Orgulho do RN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dino Tasso should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Orgulho do RN players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Luiz Bernardo F. C..
