Breno Tavares had in the 32ndth minute some difficulties stopping Hortêncio de Medeiros's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gil Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Breno Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Zé Augusto Fantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piem and the Knights Of Cydonia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute Dráusio Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dráusio Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. Knights Of Cydonia's Júlio Paraense suffered a sore thigh after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 64th match minute, Knights Of Cydonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Mendes to maneuver through the defense. Knights Of Cydonia's Felipe Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Knights Of Cydonia from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the match, Piem's Dráusio Gaúcho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipe Cunha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Tomás Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knights Of Cydonia's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
