But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafinha Prado couldn't finish the play. After 9th play minutes Cristiano Magalhães shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Clemente Mangueira and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 23rd minute, Rubens Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SELK FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Kléberson Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. If Rubens Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willian Cardozo's late challenge caught a SELK FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The supporters of SELK FC booed when EC POLIFER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willian Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
