Arnaldo Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a rather tough play, Wiig's Afonsinho Veiga got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 35th minute, Luís Gustavo Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wiig's Tião de Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Luís Gustavo Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Veiga's late challenge caught a Alexrandina EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonsinho Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Afonsinho Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Victor Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Arnaldo Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Gustavo Brito's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Tião de Medeiros succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 75th playminute.
