Mário Veloso came out of the goal and Jano Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's Jano Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jano Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA defense, Ediberto de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Augusto Cerezo. The Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Augusto Cerezo should have stopped the shot. Joélson de Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
