After 26 played minutes Wiig got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Gonçalves. Wiig's Délio Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Medeiros in the 27th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Gustavo Brito made a kick off. Wiig's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléberson Queirós was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The SELK FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Afonsinho Veiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Valdemar Nascimento made a huge save. After having played for 82 minutes, Cristiano Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SELK FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valdemar Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Brito in the 86th minute of play. If Cristiano Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, SELK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Brito came free, but Valdemar Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
