The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Augusto Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Diogo Queiroz's late challenge caught a Guaravera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diogo Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Guaravera booed when Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Cerezo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Guaravera's goalkeeper Eriberto Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jefferson Araújo. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Jano Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eriberto Medeiros was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Jano Paiva capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jano Paiva really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Eriberto Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jefferson Araújo in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Proença in the 28th minute of play forced Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guaravera's supporters rose to their feet, but Leandro Proença was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's Carlos Augusto Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Mello in the 46th minute of play. Gino Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Cerezo having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jano Paiva to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes, Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's Faustão Martins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eriberto Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA reached it. In the 58thth minute of the game João Campidelis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's Carlos Augusto Cerezo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eriberto Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Araújo in the 61st minute of play. João Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA's Joélson Fontes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 64th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Guaravera. Nestor Nogueira hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 80 minutes, Cacá Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaravera and the Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Guaravera getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Cacá Esteves hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Araújo. Carlos Augusto Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leandro Proença's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. 96 minutes in the game Nilmar Velloso after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Carlos Augusto Cerezo. A very good opportunity. Esquadrão Rubro-Negro FA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Guaravera for a fine match.
