In the 16th minute Luís Gustavo Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonsinho Veiga hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Benedito Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Gustavo Brito's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. If Tião de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Gustavo Brito in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedito Barros saved Portaria Quase FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Portaria Quase FC's zone, Tião de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Barros came out of the goal and Tião de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Délio Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Neves in the 41st minute of play. Afonsinho Veiga scored 2-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benedito Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Remo Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes into the game, Wiig's Tião de Medeiros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benedito Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Tião de Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedito Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tião de Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. Luís Gustavo Brito took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benedito Barros. Benedito Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. When Alfredão Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wiig's protests and gave Alfredão Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Wiig's Alfredão Gonçalves got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 63rd match minute, Wiig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Afonsinho Veiga got his second yellow card in the match during the 64th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 65th match minute, Wiig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Wiig's Délio Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Neves in the 66th minute of play. Wiig's Tião de Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Portaria Quase FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Chiquinho de Brito hit a great ball. Benedito Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião de Medeiros in the 82nd minute of play. Luís Gustavo Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Barros having to interfere.
