The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benedito Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute, Waldir Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldir Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ramiro Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedito Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Mello in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Guaravera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. Waldir Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Eriberto Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gino Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Barros having to interfere. Benedito Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Proença's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Evandro Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Benedito Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Portaria Quase FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Mello came free, but Benedito Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Proença in the 36th minute of play forced Portaria Quase FC's goalkeeper Benedito Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Medeiros having to interfere. When Remo Mangueira fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portaria Quase FC's protests and gave Remo Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. Remo Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Gino Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Benedito Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramiro Neves was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Guaravera's Giuseppe Penha got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Tomé Magalhães, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Leandro Proença got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Portaria Quase FC booed when Guaravera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Waldir Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Portaria Quase FC's Ramiro Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eriberto Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 78th minute Leandro Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 minutes of play Portaria Quase FC's Remo Mangueira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Leandro Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Benedito Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ramiro Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portaria Quase FC's Benedito Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Portaria Quase FC from getting a goal against them. Leandro Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Raúl Mota came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Portaria Quase FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Mota couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Guaravera getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Giuseppe Penha hit a great ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
