Foz Cataratas's Wilson do Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Foz Cataratas from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, Genílson Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Paulinho Arósio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilson do Valle, 1-0. Paulinho Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson do Valle having to interfere. Baltazar Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Wilson do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Foz Cataratas's Gino Montenegro got a free kick in the 46th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Llorian Tarin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karamelo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Llorian Tarin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Abel Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Karamelo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Oliveira couldn't finish the play. Wilson do Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulinho Arósio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Percy Pimenta could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Gildo Motta however easily saved by the left post. Karamelo FC's João Carlos Jacinto has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Oliveira in the 86th minute of play forced Foz Cataratas's goalkeeper Wilson do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Baltazar Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Paulinho Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute.
