In the 26th minute, Percy Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Foz Cataratas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, Poa Zna Leste's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Sousa came free, but Perivaldo Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perivaldo Toledo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Noel dos Santos made a kick off. Benjamin Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Foz Cataratas's zone, Noel dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson do Valle came out of the goal and Noel dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Foz Cataratas defense, Noel dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson do Valle. The Foz Cataratas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson do Valle should have stopped the shot. Genílson Sousa was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 69th match minute, Foz Cataratas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Jardel Félix struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Wilson do Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poa Zna Leste. If Noel dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Noel dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson do Valle was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Poa Zna Leste's much stronger midfield.
