The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Missioneiros SC defense, Rui Cearense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moisés Cearense. The Missioneiros SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moisés Cearense should have stopped the shot. In the 9th minute, Ulysses Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Cearense having to interfere. 0-2 became the score in the 13th minute when Christian Trevisan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 19th minute Rui Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moisés Cearense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Trevisan went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Moisés Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Christian Trevisan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taubaté E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Missioneiros SC the free kick. Christian Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Missioneiros SC's Moisés Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Ramos in the 30th minute of play. Christian Trevisan was shown his second yellow card after 34 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Moisés Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Cearense in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Cearense to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rui Cearense reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Moisés Cearense. The goal made the score 0-4. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Missioneiros SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Taubaté E.C:s goal. Missioneiros SC:s Moisés Cearense showed great skill when he stopped Ulysses Arruda:s penalty. Samuel Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moisés Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Rui Cearense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Moisés Cearense came out and tried to block the shot, but Rui Cearense slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 73rd minute. Moisés Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Cearense's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 85th minute Rui Cearense suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Erivaldo Oliveira's late challenge caught a Taubaté E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erivaldo Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute, one of Missioneiros SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Missioneiros SC. Ulysses Arruda charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulysses Arruda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ulysses Arruda hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After having played for 97 minutes, Samuel Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taubaté E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Ramos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Moisés Cearense having to make a save. Taubaté E.C played a much better game than Missioneiros SC and deserved their victory. The Missioneiros SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
