Celsinho de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Severino Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Piqueroby FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Quirino couldn't finish the play. Severino Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Godoi having to interfere. A collision led to Bongo FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Wágner Campidelis hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bongo FC's Raúl Godoi got control of the ball when Adilson Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marquinhos Valadares's late challenge caught a Piqueroby FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marquinhos Valadares helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bongo FC's goalkeeper Raúl Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute of the match, Severino Quirino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Raúl Godoi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mateus Barral might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mathias da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mateus Barral ran back to his position shaking his head. Mateus Barral scored 0-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mathias da Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Mateus Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Fabiano Queirós to make the kick off. The supporters of Bongo FC booed when Piqueroby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Bongo FC's Arí Favoretto tried to score from far away in the 52nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Severino Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Adilson Vidal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Raúl Godoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Piqueroby FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bongo FC:s goal. Adilson Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Godoi having to interfere. Piqueroby FC's Mathias da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Piqueroby FC from getting a goal against them. 96 minutes into the game, Pedro Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piqueroby FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bongo FC the free kick. A collision led to Piqueroby FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Pedro Vidal hit a great ball. Mateus Barral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathias da Silveira having to make a save. Bongo FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
