Luiz Fabiano Queirós started the match with the kick off. Emerson Fontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raúl Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Bongo FC's Raúl Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Fontes in the 7th minute of play. If Emerson Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raúl Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Fontes in the 25th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Bongo FC's Wágner Campidelis got a free kick in the 25th minute. Robinho Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Raúl Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateus Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jânio Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Bongo FC booed when Da Matta E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raúl Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eusébio Machado during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Da Matta E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Machado. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emerson Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Fontes in the 54th minute of play forced Bongo FC's goalkeeper Raúl Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th match minute, Da Matta E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute of the match Arí Favoretto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jânio Dias skillfully saved the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Duda Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Da Matta E.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bongo FC the free kick. Marquinhos Valadares charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marquinhos Valadares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes Bongo FC got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Valadares. With a little luck, Bongo FC's Raúl Godoi got control of the ball when Robinho Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Da Matta E.C. booed when Bongo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 played minutes Bongo FC got a freekick which was hit by Marquinhos Valadares. Jânio Dias came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Bongo FC's Mateus Barral. But to his dismay, Mateus Barral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Robinho Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Raúl Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robinho Simão got free with Raúl Godoi in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robinho Simão struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Raúl Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Da Matta E.C.. 96 minutes into the match, Bongo FC's goalkeeper Raúl Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robinho Simão. For all the effort they put into the match, the Da Matta E.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bongo FC.
