The fuziu fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when fuziu's Victor Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 32 played minutes Da Matta E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Fontes. A hard shot 33 in the game by Victor Brito from a close distance when the talented Jânio Dias managed to make a qualified save. Da Matta E.C.'s players were relieved. 45 minutes into the match, Emerson Fontes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nando Tepedino. fuziu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Fontes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emerson Fontes to make the kick off. fuziu's Victor Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Júnior Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Dias having to interfere. fuziu's Nando Tepedino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save fuziu from getting a goal against them. 66 minutes into the game, Júnior Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. fuziu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Da Matta E.C. the free kick. A collision led to fuziu getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Júnior Quintal hit a great ball. Victor Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Brito in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jânio Dias saved Da Matta E.C. from getting behind. Robinho Simão struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Nando Tepedino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Da Matta E.C.. The audience was convinced that Victor Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jânio Dias was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the game, fuziu's Victor Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jânio Dias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Victor Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. fuziu's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
