Spectators: 6652 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The supporters of Chaval booed when Guveia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Túlio Velasco's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Anísio Leão on his right side and into the goal. 10 minutes into the game it was 1-0. When Valdo Penha fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guveia's protests and gave Valdo Penha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Guveia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Penha to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Manuel Leal scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardinho Sá took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anísio Leão. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdo Penha was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Guveia's zone, Ricardinho Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Leão came out of the goal and Ricardinho Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardinho Sá in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anísio Leão saved Guveia from getting behind. Anísio Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Leão having to interfere. Anísio Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Severo in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Leão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ricardinho Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chaval's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 75 minutes, João Vaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guveia and the Chaval players grew even worse after the yellow card. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Guveia's Valdo Penha in the 91st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Miguel Leite was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Chaval through an amazing save. If Manuel Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
