Miguel Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Chaval's Alberto Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilton Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Miguel Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Severo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dagoberto Meireles having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Severo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dagoberto Meireles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the match, Desbravadores FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardinho Sá. Miguel Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Meireles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardinho Sá went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Desbravadores FC's zone, Ricardinho Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Meireles came out of the goal and Ricardinho Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Desbravadores FC's Lucas Varela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Leite narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilton Garcia was the one to do the kick off. If Alberto Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Severo in the 60th minute of play forced Desbravadores FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dagoberto Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hílton Capixaba during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Chaval a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Túlio Velasco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Desbravadores FC's Dagoberto Meireles. 2-2. In the 93rd minute, Hílton Capixaba fired a really elegant long shot, but Miguel Leite threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Lucas Varela's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 98thth minute, Miguel Leite skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
