Guveia's Roger Carneiro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jorginho de Souza but with some difficulty. Valdo Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jorginho de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético dos Craque's Lino da Rocha got a free kick in the 24th minute. Wágner Teles was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Zé Augusto Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético dos Craque's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The attack was good, but when Ian Pena in the 31st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Valdo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Zeca Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Lino da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético dos Craque's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee ignored Guveia's protests and gave João Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clube Atlético dos Craque booed when Guveia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Ian Pena dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anísio Leão, 0-1. Ian Pena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anísio Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Manuel Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
