Luiz Fernando Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Sydney Mandrak made a huge save. Sydney Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Paraibano in the 9th minute of play. Sydney Mandrak made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Luiz Fernando Silveira sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Futbol Club Barcelona's Sydney Mandrak threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kléber Paraibano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 21 minutes into the match, Pierrot Calcio's goalkeeper Sydney Mandrak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fernando Silveira. After a rather tough play, Pierrot Calcio's Simão Dantas got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Kléber Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Sydney Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Futbol Club Barcelona. The audience was convinced that Kléber Paraibano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Mandrak was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Dantas during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pierrot Calcio's Simão Dantas got a free kick in the 27th minute. Kléber Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Mandrak having to interfere. Sydney Mandrak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Silveira in the 30th minute. Sydney Mandrak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Futbol Club Barcelona's Egídio Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro do Nascimento in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, Futbol Club Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Baltazar Rossi's late challenge caught a Futbol Club Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltazar Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kléber Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Pierrot Calcio got a freekick which was hit by Simão Dantas. Germano Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauro do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Garcia having to interfere. Mauro do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute of the match Humberto da Silveira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sydney Mandrak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Paraibano in the 74th minute of play forced Pierrot Calcio's goalkeeper Sydney Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egídio Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano Garcia in the 76th minute of the match. Egídio Garcia made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Mauro do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute of the match Futbol Club Barcelona got a corner. Pierrot Calcio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Humberto da Silveira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Osvaldo Ceresso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 92nd match minute, Pierrot Calcio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Sydney Mandrak came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Futbol Club Barcelona's Luiz Fernando Silveira. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.
