With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Alberto Fonseca in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tarcisio do Nascimento saved Botafogo Devil from getting behind. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juvenal Baiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Fernando Baptista in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

ECP Team's Juvenal Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Mello in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, ECP Team's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Mello came free, but Juvenal Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Donato Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Reynaldo Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. ECP Team walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
