The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Gustavo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Aílton Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. cajamar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aílton Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ezequiel Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Novaes in the 29th minute of the match. cajamar's Olavo Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aílton Borges came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the cajamar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Borges couldn't finish the play. Edu Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Michel de Godoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Mattos having to make a save. Jacinto Castro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jorge Mattos. cajamar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Jaguary EC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Dráuzio Aparecido hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Prado in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Gustavo Meireles saved Jaguary EC from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 54th minute, Olavo Prado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Gustavo Meireles was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 57th minute, Zézinho Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Jaguary EC's Michel de Godoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Mattos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorge Mattos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ezequiel Novaes went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Zézinho Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Jorge Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel de Godoi in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Prado in the 84th minute of play forced Jaguary EC's goalkeeper Luís Gustavo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Jaguary EC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Dráuzio Aparecido hit a great ball. In the 88th minute of the match cajamar got a corner. Jaguary EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. André Félix ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jorge Mattos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ezequiel Novaes in the 95th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
