Kléberson Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aníbal Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kléberson Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Zico F.C booed when Falange Vermelha RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Leão in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dino de Toledo saved Zico F.C from getting behind. Jailson Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Falange Vermelha RS's Aníbal Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléberson Pereira in the 36th minute of play. If Luiz Gustavo Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Gustavo Trancosos short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Dino de Toledo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Leão to strike the kick off in the second half. Kauã Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match.
