In the 14th minute, Iuri Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iuri Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Soares having to interfere. Gino Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gino Dante was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Corcovado booed when Guanabara F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corcovado's Edgard Paulista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Guanabara F.C.. Gino Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Zézinho Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd match minute, Guanabara F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Melo to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Zé Augusto Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Silva having to interfere. Rubinho Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubinho Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Guanabara F.C.'s Rubinho Alcântara got a free kick in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Guanabara F.C.'s zone, Zé Augusto Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wesley Silva came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorian Bueno kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Guanabara F.C.'s goalkeeper Wesley Silva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Barreto. A hard shot 54 in the game by Zé Augusto Senna from a close distance when the talented Wesley Silva managed to make a qualified save. Guanabara F.C.'s players were relieved. In the 55th minute, Renan de Barros fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Wesley Silva, passed just outside the right post. If Zé Augusto Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Augusto Senna struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Wesley Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corcovado. If Zé Augusto Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corcovado's José de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Fernando Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Augusto Senna struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Wesley Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corcovado. Zé Augusto Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Wesley Silva made a huge save. With a little luck, Guanabara F.C.'s Wesley Silva got control of the ball when José de Amorim tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 86 played minutes Corcovado got a freekick which was hit by Zé Augusto Senna. Fernando Barreto hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Wesley Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corcovado's Zézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iuri Arruda in the 96th minute of play. Wesley Silva made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Zé Augusto Senna sent off a good shot on target.
