Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Haroldo Antunes started the match with the kick off. Valdo Velasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Velasco in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Tavares saved Jatai from getting behind. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jatai's goalkeeper Armando Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Corcovado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Barreto to maneuver through the defense. If Valdo Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fábio da Mata fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jatai's protests and gave Fábio da Mata a yellow card for diving instead. Armando Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Velasco in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Velasco in the 18th minute of play forced Jatai's goalkeeper Armando Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Jatai's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto Senna came free, but Armando Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josué Tróia kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Corcovado's Zé Augusto Senna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armando Tavares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Corcovado's zone, Ademar de Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zézinho Soares came out of the goal and Ademar de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdo Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Armando Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Augusto Senna went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Fiori Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Valdemar de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jatai's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Davi da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Haroldo Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jatai's supporters rose to their feet, but Haroldo Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ademar de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Zézinho Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corcovado's Zézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Antunes in the 57th minute of play. Ademar de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Corcovado's Zézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Antunes in the 71st minute of play. Jatai's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademar de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Corcovado's goalkeeper Zézinho Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 85th minute Valdo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Corcovado's José de Amorim got a free kick in the 86th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Valdo Velasco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Armando Tavares, 1-3. The Corcovado supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Corcovado would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
