After 8 played minutes Falange Vermelha RS got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Nunes. After 9 minutes of play, Corcovado's Zé Augusto Senna made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aníbal Viana was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Gustavo Trancoso during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valdo Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Aníbal Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Velasco in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aníbal Viana saved Falange Vermelha RS from getting behind. Zé Augusto Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Aníbal Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Augusto Senna struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Aníbal Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corcovado. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdo Velasco in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aníbal Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José de Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José de Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, Corcovado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aníbal Viana having to make a save. After 29 played minutes Falange Vermelha RS got a freekick which was hit by Kauã Camargo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Senna in the 33rd minute of play forced Falange Vermelha RS's goalkeeper Aníbal Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zé Augusto Senna came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Corcovado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto Senna couldn't finish the play. If Valdo Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdo Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Viana having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Barreto during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdo Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 76 minutes of play Falange Vermelha RS's Afonso Nunes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Afonso Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Augusto Senna got free with Aníbal Viana in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th minute, Juninho Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Falange Vermelha RS's Fernandinho Reis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Valdo Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corcovado's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
