Culés's Benjamin Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Betão Bezerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Otávio Gerber came out and tried to block the shot, but Betão Bezerra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Carioca FC's Jacinto Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Duarte in the 7th minute of play. Betão Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Otávio Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otávio Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Barreto in the 11th minute. After 13 played minutes Carioca FC got a freekick which was hit by Yan Antunes. The supporters of Culés booed when Carioca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Benjamin Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Culés's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Jardel de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Carioca FC's Luiz Paulo de Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Otávio Gerber. That made the score 2-0 after 33 minutes of play. Yan Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jacinto Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Alves came free, but Jacinto Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Culés's Yan Duarte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto Rodrigues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Otávio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Carioca FC's goalkeeper Jacinto Rodrigues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Schmidt. The supporters of Culés booed when Carioca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeu Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yan Duarte struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Jacinto Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Culés. Jacinto Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 69th play minute Samuel Schmidt came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jacinto Rodrigues. 2-2. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Samuel Schmidt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jacinto Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yan Duarte's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Otávio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Bezerra in the 81st minute of the match. Samuel Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
