The audience was convinced that José Pedro Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gugu Tavares was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Gugu Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Maia in the 19th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Carapicuíba FC got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Marinho. The supporters of Carapicuíba FC booed when CRAQUES DO FUTURO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, CRAQUES DO FUTURO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Maia came free, but Gugu Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in CRAQUES DO FUTURO FC's zone, José Maria Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gugu Tavares came out of the goal and José Maria Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hílton Vides took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gugu Tavares. CRAQUES DO FUTURO FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Fernando Maia to make the kick off. Gugu Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Maia in the 90th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Pedro Toledo got free with Gugu Tavares in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 93 minutes, Décio Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRAQUES DO FUTURO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Décio Breckenfeld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Décio Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carapicuíba FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
