An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Tande in the 5th minute of play forced Borba's goalkeeper Frédson Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédson Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oséas Tande in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frédson Botelho saved Borba from getting behind. The supporters of Goldens Boys booed when Borba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lenílson Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lenílson Meirelles fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borba's protests and gave Lenílson Meirelles a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Goldens Boys booed when Borba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenílson Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Ramos got free with Frédson Botelho in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oséas Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Frédson Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Ramos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 39th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Frédson Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Tande in the 41st minute of play. Frédson Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséas Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Borba's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Leme came free, but Frédson Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Oséas Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oséas Tande was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Didi Leme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goldens Boys and the Borba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Borba booed when Goldens Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Wanderson da Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marquinhos Moraes hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Goldens Boys's goalkeeper Jorginho Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wanderson da Mata. Wanderson da Mata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jorginho Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but Wanderson da Mata slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 70th minute. Frédson Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Jorginho Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Terra in the 76th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Goldens Boys got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Ramos. Frédson Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséas Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
