Fred Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Fernandão Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fred Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Vítor Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ituyutaba's Afonso Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Jacinto in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Fred Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ituyutaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Quirino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fred Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute of the match Atlético Nonato got a corner. Ituyutaba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sidnei Figueiredo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 32 minutes Ituyutaba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sidnei Figueiredo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Sidnei Figueiredo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Afonso Vinhas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Atlético Nonato's Fernandão Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Quirino in the 35th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Vítor Jacinto made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ituyutaba getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Luiz Eduardo Esteves hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the game, Vítor Jacinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Afonso Vinhas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vítor Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Frank Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Luciano Martins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ituyutaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Nonato the free kick. The supporters of Atlético Nonato booed when Ituyutaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ituyutaba's Afonso Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidnei Paulista in the 67th minute of play. Afonso Vinhas came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Nonato's Sidnei Paulista. But to his dismay, Sidnei Paulista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Vítor Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Atlético Nonato fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Jacinto couldn't finish the play. Fernandão Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Catarinense in the 94th minute of play forced Ituyutaba's goalkeeper Afonso Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Atlético Nonato were victorious despite being under pressure from Ituyutaba for much of the match.
