After a rather tough play, Sly FC's Luiz Eduardo dos Santos got a free kick in the 4th minute. Norberto Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Wágner de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Evaristo Moreira in the 8th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If André Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute Manuel Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Miranda hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Sly FC's Tarcisio Ortiz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 30th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Germano Sarmento but with some difficulty. If Evaristo Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the game, SuperCampeõesRJ's Evaristo Moreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wágner de Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Wágner de Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norberto Tróia went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Sly FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SuperCampeõesRJ were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Carneiro made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murilo Pereira during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SuperCampeõesRJ booed when Sly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Sly FC's goalkeeper Wágner de Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Tróia. In the 56th minute, Evaristo Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Sly FC got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Pereira. 61 minutes into the match, Sly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Moreira came free, but Wágner de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 67 minutes on the clock, Aníbal Miranda commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 72 minutes, Manuel Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SuperCampeõesRJ and the Sly FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. SuperCampeõesRJ's Manuel Miranda came free and shot a quick shot against goal 83 minutes in the game, fortunately Wágner de Barros had problems saving as it came toward the left post.
