In the 7th minute André Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 8 played minutes Lavajinha SS got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar de Senna. Remo Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wágner de Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Lavajinha SS's Abel de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Carneiro in the 16th minute of play. Waldemar Nuness short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Wágner de Barros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Wágner de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remo Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Waldemar Nunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Wágner de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldemar Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sly FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Tarcisio Ortiz took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Abel de Andrade to make any attempt to save it. Despite being the better team, Lavajinha SS failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
