Váldson Gomes didn't quite understand what happened when in the 28 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Emanuel Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Meira having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Erivaldo Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético-PR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erivaldo Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abelardo de Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Olavo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jitirana EC. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Dário Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jitirana EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dário Tasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olavo Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Luisão Neto made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Neto in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robinho Meira saved Jitirana EC from getting behind. Olavo Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Tasso in the 54th minute of the match. Emanuel Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Meira having to interfere. During the 58th minute of the match Teodoro da Rocha completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Teodoro da Rocha a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 59th minute, Teodoro da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th match minute, Jitirana EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Olavo Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo de Medeiros in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Atlético-PR's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abelardo de Medeiros fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Mangueira in the 90th minute of play forced Jitirana EC's goalkeeper Robinho Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jitirana EC's zone, Luisão Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Meira came out of the goal and Luisão Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
