After having played for 12 minutes, Marquinhos Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xaxim AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquinhos Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Xaxim AD booed when Abençoados Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xaxim AD's Márcio Bezerra got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Luiz do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rafael Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marquinhos Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Pedro Luiz do Nascimento made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Lara. Xaxim AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Xaxim AD's zone, Pedro Luiz do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Lara came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Murillo Marquez fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xaxim AD's protests and gave Murillo Marquez a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Xaxim AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 40th minute, Marquinhos Simão fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonas do Valle, passed just outside the right post. Márcio Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas do Valle having to interfere. When Márcio Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Xaxim AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Bezerra couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Márcio Bezerra got free with Jonas do Valle in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Xaxim AD's Rafael Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Xaxim AD from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aílton Sabóia in the 58th minute of play forced Xaxim AD's goalkeeper Rafael Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Kléberson Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abençoados Futebol Clube's Fábio Teixeira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Xaxim AD. Aílton Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rafael Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Luiz do Nascimento got free with Rafael Lara in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 66 minutes, Luisão do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abençoados Futebol Clube and the Xaxim AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 66 played minutes Abençoados Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luisão do Vale. In the 67th minute, Marquinhos Simão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Xaxim AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Pedro Luiz do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Xaxim AD's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Sabóia came free, but Rafael Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton Sabóia in the 82nd minute of play. Kléberson Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Fábio Teixeira, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
