In the 24th match minute, Atlético-PR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir França to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Atlético-PR's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Marquez came free, but Olavo Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético-PR's zone, Anderson de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Varela came out of the goal and Anderson de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Zé Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisão Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chakais do Oeste's Anderson de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Zé Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atlético-PR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Olavo Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavo Varela was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Zé Marquez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zé Marquez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Chakais do Oeste walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
