Natanael Breckenfeld hit a great ball. Flamengo were furious when Tiaguinho Furtado was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Flamengo! When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, SE Piroxenio's Håkon Wheelwright got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ionică Cantemir. Zhelyazko Qwinton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Corrêa in the 23rd minute of play. Ademir Gomes took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zhelyazko Qwinton. Zhelyazko Qwinton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 38 minutes into the game, Ademir Gomes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Zhelyazko Qwinton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ademir Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademir Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zhelyazko Qwinton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ademir Gomes to strike the kick off in the second half. If Dudu Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 55 minutes, Iuri Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iuri Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zhelyazko Qwinton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ademir Gomes in the 57th minute. Dudu Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zhelyazko Qwinton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Gilberto de Souza got a free kick in the 60th minute. Natanael Breckenfeld hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Iuri Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Zhelyazko Qwinton made a huge save. 69 minutes into the match, Flamengo's Dudu Corrêa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zhelyazko Qwinton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ademir Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dudu Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zhelyazko Qwinton having to interfere. A hard shot 75 in the game by Ademir Gomes from a close distance when the talented Zhelyazko Qwinton managed to make a qualified save. SE Piroxenio's players were relieved. When Reinaldo Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SE Piroxenio's protests and gave Reinaldo Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. Ruy Breckenfeld succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 83rd playminute. Ademir Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zhelyazko Qwinton having to interfere. When Flamengo's Dudu Corrêa in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SE Piroxenio's goalie prevented a goal. Teodoro Donatello's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodoro Donatello helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Flamengo booed when SE Piroxenio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SE Piroxenio's zone, Ademir Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zhelyazko Qwinton came out of the goal and Ademir Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SE Piroxenio's Zhelyazko Qwinton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save SE Piroxenio from getting a goal against them. 98 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Flamengo's Dudu Corrêa fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. When the match was over Flamengo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SE Piroxenio throughout the match.
