Golfos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Proença was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Soeiro in the 4th minute of play forced TheZacato's goalkeeper Geovânio Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute of the match Ciro Vale shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dráuzio Romero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Edmílson Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guga Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Golfos FC's Dráuzio Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Loyola in the 14th minute of play. Josué dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of TheZacato booed when Golfos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josué dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dráuzio Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 minutes, Edmílson Maranhense made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. TheZacato's Geovânio Bertassi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 38 minutes into the match, Edmílson Maranhense notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of TheZacato's Geovânio Bertassi. Geovânio Bertassi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Golfos FC's Edmílson Maranhense couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for TheZacato.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmílson Maranhense to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Ciro Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TheZacato and the Golfos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 51 played minutes TheZacato got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Vale. Anselmo Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Pimenta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edmílson Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, TheZacato's Rodrigo Loyola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dráuzio Romero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Edmílson Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Golfos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Maranhense couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio Soeiro got free with Geovânio Bertassi in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lenílson Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Geovânio Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Golfos FC's Edmílson Maranhense in the 88th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Geovânio Bertassi was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for TheZacato through an amazing save. After 95 minutes, Ediberto Peres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golfos FC and the TheZacato players grew even worse after the yellow card.
