Surui's Nilmar Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Cerezo in the 2nd minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Tucum's Cleiton de Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilmar Cearense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Surui's Mauro Rezende got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Elano Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaltino Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilmar Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tucum. After a defensive mix-up in Surui's zone, Elano Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar Cearense came out of the goal and Elano Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 minutes, Mauro Rezende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Surui and the Tucum players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes Surui got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Rezende. Isaltino Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Nilmar Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Surui's Nilmar Cearense got control of the ball when Isaltino Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Surui's Gugu Alcântara in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tucum's goalie prevented a goal. In the 29th minute, Isaltino Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilmar Cearense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elano Bueno went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 34th match minute, Tucum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. If Cléberson Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nilmar Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Bueno in the 39th minute of the match. Doni Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Nilmar Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaltino Cunha made a kick off. Gugu Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco de Souza having to interfere. Luís Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Surui's zone, Isaltino Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar Cearense came out of the goal and Isaltino Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Amorim in the 60th minute of the match. Nilmar Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tucum's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernandão Mazza in the 66th minute. After taking down the ball on Tucum's corner Fernandão Mazza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nilmar Cearense quite easily take care of the ball. João Carlos Lopes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Caco de Souza firmly grabbed it by the left post. Haroldo Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilmar Cearense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Haroldo Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Elano Bueno struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Nilmar Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tucum. Haroldo Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
