The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ernesto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz de Brito in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Prado MZC's zone, Yan Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano de Mendonça came out of the goal and Yan Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Leão was a little too slow when Sílvio Luiz de Brito got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-1. Yan Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Yan Torres notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Prado MZC's Cipriano de Mendonça. Cipriano de Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Sílvio Luiz de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Prado MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Luiz de Brito couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Real Safira C.F getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rogério Veiga hit a great ball. In the 29th match minute, Real Safira C.F was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percival Borges to maneuver through the defense. Délio Prestes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 35 minutes, Fernandinho Pirani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prado MZC and the Real Safira C.F players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Prado MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Pirani to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Torres in the 36th minute of play forced Prado MZC's goalkeeper Cipriano de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sílvio Luiz de Brito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Prado MZC's zone, Yan Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano de Mendonça came out of the goal and Yan Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yan Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celso Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano de Mendonça having to interfere. Celso Koehlers short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Cipriano de Mendonça to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cipriano de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cipriano de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Celso Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yan Torres's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Cipriano de Mendonça skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 91st minute, Real Safira C.F's Celso Koehler dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Celso Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Real Safira C.F supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Real Safira C.F would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
