Fred Perez hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson Mendes in the 14th minute of play forced Imbuial's goalkeeper Adhemar Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Dinei Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Imbuial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a little luck, Piratas.FC's José Pedro Maciel got control of the ball when Dinei Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute Edinho Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anderson Mendes struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Adhemar Soeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piratas.FC. In the 32nd minute of the match, Dinei Rocha got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Pedro Maciel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vladimir Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adhemar Soeiro having to make a save. José Pedro Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vânderson Motta in the 45th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vânderson Motta to strike the kick off in the second half. Anderson Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Adhemar Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
