C.'s Tiago Gabriel Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Dragão Carioca F. C. from getting a goal against them. Vladimir Viana received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tiago Gabriel Paiva came out and tried to block the shot, but Vladimir Viana slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. After having played for 8 minutes, Anderson Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piratas.FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Pedro Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Renato Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute of the match, Anderson Mendes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tiago Gabriel Paiva was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 15 minutes, Edinho Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piratas.FC and the Dragão Carioca F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes Piratas.FC got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Hoffmann. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anderson Mendes got free with Tiago Gabriel Paiva in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anderson Mendes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Tiago Gabriel Paiva made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, Christian Severo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Pedro Maciel. Piratas.FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Severo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Anderson Mendes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiago Gabriel Paiva having to make a save. Percival Duarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 played minutes Piratas.FC got a freekick which was hit by Percival Duarte. In the 40th minute, Vladimir Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oséias Pena charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oséias Pena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oséias Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A hard, long distance shot from Vladimir Viana flew over the goal. Tiago Gabriel Paiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anderson Mendes in the 44th minute. José Pedro Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Piratas.FC's José Pedro Maciel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Varela in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Severo was the one to do the kick off. Vladimir Viana might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Gabriel Paiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimir Viana ran back to his position shaking his head. Anderson Mendes struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Tiago Gabriel Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piratas.FC. After having played for 59 minutes, Anderson Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafinha Rocha to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Percival Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dragão Carioca F. C.'s Luís Fernando Soares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 84th minute of play. The shot was stopped by José Pedro Maciel but with some difficulty. Tiago Gabriel Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson Mendes in the 89th minute of play. Tiago Gabriel Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anderson Mendes in the 90th minute of the match. When Anderson Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Piratas.FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson Mendes couldn't finish the play.
