Norberto Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pompuanas AD's Zé Roberto de Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Pompuanas AD from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Norberto Soares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macarani fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Pompuanas AD's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Terra came free, but Zé Roberto de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Pompuanas AD's Bruninho Vaz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulinho Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 28th play minute Norberto Soares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Zé Roberto de Mendonça. 2-1. After having played for 33 minutes, Victor Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompuanas AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Macarani's Paulinho Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Abreu in the 35th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruninho Vaz to make the kick off. If Bruninho Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Paulinho Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Victor Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Pompuanas AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Abreu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Pompuanas AD booed when Macarani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Edvaldo Zonta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macarani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pompuanas AD the free kick. Victor Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Quirino having to interfere. Zé Roberto de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Norberto Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Zé Roberto de Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bruninho Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Quirino having to interfere. Bruninho Vaz charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruninho Vaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th match minute, Pompuanas AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Vaz to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Norberto Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulinho Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Macarani were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Pompuanas AD for a fine match.
